Local Hero (1983)
Surprisingly uneven, falling short of its reputation as one of the best Brit flicks of the 80s, but funny in places and charming enough as a whole. 7/10.

Hi Peter - great to read some of your reviews in EN recently. I hope they let you do many more as it's refreshing to read genuine film criticism rather than the somewhat simplistic reviews they have carried in the past!

Hello Tom, thank you for that. It's nice to know they are read. Look out for my review of Invictus next month, I'd be interested to know what you think because I feel I may have drifted a little too far from cinematic criticism due to focusing on the South Africa portrayed compared the South Africa that I know.
